No, we do not recommend exchanging your personal information with any of our teachers. The RMT platform will block sensitive information in messages for security and privacy. You will see BLOCKED in places where phone numbers, URLs, or emails are sent.

This policy protects both students and teachers by keeping all communications on the platform, ensuring payment security, and maintaining quality standards for all lessons. When communications remain on the platform, both parties benefit from our dispute resolution system, message history records, and the ability to involve support staff if issues arise. Moving conversations off-platform removes these protections and makes it difficult for us to help resolve any problems that may occur.

The blocking system uses pattern recognition to detect phone numbers, email addresses, and web URLs in your messages. If the system identifies these patterns, the text will be replaced with the word BLOCKED before the message reaches the teacher. This automatic filtering applies to both the messaging system and lesson notes to maintain consistent privacy protection across all communication channels.

Account security and fraud prevention are the primary reasons for this strict policy. When students and teachers move conversations off-platform, the platform loses visibility into potential scams, inappropriate behavior, or payment circumvention that violates terms of service. Teachers attempting to collect payment outside the platform not only lose platform protections but also deprive the platform of its commission, which funds customer support, platform maintenance, and security features that benefit all users. Repeated attempts to share contact information demonstrate intent to circumvent platform rules and will result in permanent account termination.
