Once a lesson has been canceled, it can no longer be rescheduled directly. When the lesson is canceled, this will refund what you paid for the lesson back in your wallet. You can later use this wallet money to buy more lessons from the teacher and then proceed to schedule it.
Note that if you bought multiple lessons on bulk-lesson discount, you will only receive the discounted bulk refund when you cancel the lesson and you will not be able to purchase a single lesson back for the same price. Therefore, you should always avoid canceling lessons, if you know that you're going to schedule them in the future. Instead. you should reschedule the lesson or ask the teacher to unschedule it.
Understanding the difference between canceling, rescheduling, and unscheduling is important for preserving your lesson discount pricing. Canceling a lesson is permanent and converts the lesson back to money in your wallet, effectively ending that lesson credit. Rescheduling moves a lesson to a different date and time while keeping the same lesson credit intact, preserving any bulk discount you received when originally purchasing. Unscheduling removes the date and time from a lesson but keeps it as an unscheduled lesson credit that you can schedule later at your convenience, also preserving bulk discounts.
The bulk discount preservation issue occurs because when you cancel a lesson purchased as part of a package deal, the refund amount is calculated as the total package price divided by the number of lessons in the package. For example, if you bought 8 lessons for $240 ($30 per lesson instead of the regular $40), canceling one lesson refunds $30 to your wallet. However, when you repurchase, you're buying a single lesson at the regular $40 rate, not the discounted package rate. This means canceling and repurchasing costs you $10 more than simply rescheduling or unscheduling the original lesson would have.
If you need to change a lesson time, the best approach depends on whether you've already coordinated with your teacher. If you and your teacher have agreed on a new time, use the reschedule function to move the lesson directly. If you're not sure when you'll be available but know you can't make the currently scheduled time, ask your teacher to unschedule the lesson for you through their teacher dashboard, which returns it to your unscheduled lessons list where it remains available for future scheduling without losing any bulk discount value. Only cancel lessons when you're certain you won't take them at all and prefer to have the money back in your wallet for other purposes.
