This can be due to a number of factors not limited to the following:
- The teacher has a time-to-book set in their Account Settings, and the student is trying to book within this time value.
- The student's time zone is not set correctly in the student's Account Settings screen.
- The teacher has traveled to another location and forgot to change his time zone.
- Other technical issues.
If you don't find the root cause, please get in touch with technical support. You can also try messaging the teacher directly to coordinate a mutually convenient time outside their regular availability.
The most common issue is the minimum booking window setting. Many teachers require 24 or 48 hours advance notice before lessons, which means time slots within that window won't appear available even though they exist on the teacher's calendar. To verify this, check the teacher's profile card where their minimum booking time requirement is clearly displayed. If you need a lesson sooner than their minimum booking window allows, send them a direct message explaining your situation and they may be able to accommodate an exception for urgent tutoring needs.
Time zone mismatches are another frequent cause of availability confusion. The platform automatically converts all lesson times to your local timezone, but this only works correctly if your timezone is set properly in your Account Settings under Personal Information. If you've recently traveled or moved to a different timezone without updating your settings, you may see teacher availability displayed at incorrect times or appearing completely empty. Similarly, if your teacher travels without updating their timezone settings, their availability calendar may show times that don't align with their actual current location, making coordination difficult until the timezone discrepancy is resolved through direct communication or support assistance.
