General Availability is your general time slots to conduct lessons on each day of the week. In contrast, a Weekly Schedule allows for a specific time of a particular week where you could add or remove time slots, perhaps when you are busy with work or studies.
Both availability calendars have green cells corresponding to those time slots that are available for the teacher to teach and white and grayed-out slots corresponding to those time slots that are blocked.
To set the slots to "available", just click on the first time slot and drag the mouse cursor down to the last slot. The teacher can create multiple blocks of time that they are going to be available for each day.
Please make sure you're not just clicking on one slot, because that would only create a 15-min block.
Think of General Availability as your default recurring weekly schedule that applies indefinitely into the future, while Weekly Schedule acts as temporary overrides for specific calendar weeks. For example, if you normally teach Monday through Friday from 3-8 PM (set in General Availability), but have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, March 15th from 4-5 PM, you would use the Weekly Schedule for that specific week to block out just that one hour. The General Availability continues to apply to all other weeks automatically. This two-tier system gives teachers maximum flexibility to maintain a consistent schedule while easily accommodating occasional conflicts like appointments, holidays, or exam periods. Changes made in the Weekly Schedule only affect that particular week and don't alter your General Availability pattern, so you don't need to remember to restore your normal schedule afterward.
