Our group classes are minimal, typically only 2-4 students per class. Our courses are not lecture halls where the teacher talks to a class of 15-20 students. On the contrary, the teacher is there to gather feedback from the student, monitor their progress, and guide the child in providing the necessary hints. We believe that this is the only effective way to learn.

The small group size allows each student to receive personalized attention while also benefiting from peer learning and collaboration. This intimate classroom environment ensures teachers can adapt their instruction to each student's learning pace and address individual questions while fostering healthy mathematical discussion among classmates.

This approach aligns with the Socratic method used in traditional Russian mathematics education, where teachers guide students to discover solutions through questioning rather than direct instruction. With only 2-4 students, the teacher can call on each child multiple times during a single lesson, ensuring everyone stays engaged and actively participates in problem-solving. Students learn not just from the teacher but also from observing how their classmates approach problems, exposing them to different problem-solving strategies and mathematical thinking patterns.

The small class size also creates a supportive learning community where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, which are essential parts of the learning process. Teachers can quickly identify when a student is struggling with a concept and provide immediate clarification or additional examples. Group classes cost less per hour than private lessons while still maintaining a high level of individualized attention, making them an excellent value for families who want quality Russian math instruction at an affordable price point. Many students thrive in small group settings because the mild social pressure and friendly competition motivate them to prepare thoroughly and perform their best during each lesson.
