RMT whiteboard automatically resizes your whiteboard to fit your browser window. That's handy — until your browser zoom or screen resolution changes. When that happens, things can get out of sync, and your once-perfect board suddenly looks cropped or misaligned.

Zoom vs. Pan — What's the Difference?

Zooming changes how big things look on your screen. Panning just moves around the canvas without actually resizing it.

If the whiteboard looks too small, always check your zoom first — not the pan. On most computers, you can fix it quickly:

Press Ctrl + or Ctrl - (Windows)

Press Command + or Command - (Mac)

How to Make Your RMT Whiteboard Bigger

a. Adjust Your Browser Zoom

Every browser lets you zoom in or out.

On Chrome or Edge, use Ctrl + to zoom in or Ctrl - to zoom out.

On Mac, use Command + or Command -.

b. Use the "Fit to Window" Option

Look for a "Fit to Window" or "Auto-Scale" setting in Groupworld. Clicking it snaps your whiteboard back to full view instantly.

c. Switch to Full-Screen Mode

Go full screen to get rid of tabs and toolbars:

F11 for Windows

Control + Command + F for Mac

You'll have the entire screen just for the whiteboard — no distractions.

Change Your Screen Resolution for More Space

If your display resolution is low, everything looks zoomed-in and cramped. Bump it up to at least 1920×1080 (Full HD) to get more visible whiteboard area. The higher your resolution, the more content you'll see without scrolling.

Why You Can't See All the Writing

Sometimes it's not about zoom — it's a canvas mismatch. If your tutor uses a big monitor and you're on a tablet, parts of the board may be off-screen. Ask them to stay within visible boundaries or use multi-page mode to split lessons neatly.

Fix Glitches by Clearing Cache and Reloading

Cached files can mess up how the whiteboard loads. Clear your browser cache and reload the session. Nine times out of ten, that alone fixes the display problem.

Tips for Tutors

  • Keep text and drawings medium-sized.
  • Don't write all the way to the edges.
  • Check what your student sees once in a while.
  • Use color to separate topics or steps.

Small habits like these make lessons smoother and easier to follow.

Tips for Students

  • Use a laptop or desktop instead of a phone — bigger screens make a big difference.
  • Ask your tutor to switch to page mode for long explanations.
  • Don't hesitate to ask for zoom adjustments during class.

When the board is clear, learning feels effortless.
