At Russian Math Tutors, we have our own program to help children learn problem-solving, logical thought and problem-solving. It is called Build Your Own Math. It consists of a series of structured problems. These materials are freely downloadable from our website. The synopsis and instructional technology for each and every grade are also included.
Russian math emphasizes logic and abstract thinking. These are skills that also promote cognitive activity. It is founded on the Soviet Mathematical tradition. Dr. ED. Lyudmila Georgievna Peterson based the program solidly on the 'science of learning.'
The benefits of the BYOM program are numerous:
Students' abilities to think critically get expanded and developed. Students get loads of practice in analyzing situations, evaluating options, and making informed decisions. This shortens the time span they would take to perform the same functions in the future.
Students are enabled to face challenges confidently and find effective solutions. This is due to learning to think with a problem-solving mindset.
We encourage students to think outside of the box and use their focused observational skills. They will need this to construct innovative solutions in response to relevant problems.
Students become primed in problem-solving. Having this outlook on life can help them improve their performance in math and science. This will reflect positively on their standardized tests.
Our program engages and intrigues us because its solutions have Real World Applications.
Advances Career
Employers value and appoint individuals who can solve problems they need to solve. Studying with us can improve an individual's career growth and open up better job opportunities.
Our BYOM Program encourages students to engage with mathematical concepts interactively. They are allowed to develop their problem-solving skills through practice and application. We are committed to smaller classes. Our students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring complex problems. This boosts their confidence and critical thinking abilities. This is known in Educational circles as Constructivism. BYOM has a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) orientation. The PBL learning theory is lauded as one of the most effective and applicable theories, but it is also controversial. We have proven that it works - by thoroughly testing our BYOM program in the Eastern European context. More than 1.5 million Eastern European students benefit from the Peterson program. 1.4 million students have studied under it.
