Expert Math Tutor
I've taught math for 19 years, grades 6 through 12, and coached students for math olympiads. I've also led curriculum work and run an education center. Today I teach Algebra I and SAT Math at a public school in Texas, and I tutor privately. My approach fits the Russian school tradition: students learn by reasoning through hard problems and explaining their thinking, not by memorizing steps. I diagnose where each student stands, set a clear personal goal, and build a plan to reach it. I love seeing a student realize they can do math.
